The gameplay is based on a power-up system that changes both the power and the type of attack of the ship. Depending on the weapons collected, the player can adapt his style of play to the waves of enemies and impressive bosses. With its nerve action, colorful graphics and dynamic soundtrack, Cyber Core is part of the tradition of the PC-Engine's best shoot-up.
- The player-driven ship, called « Hyper Insectoid », evolves thanks to four types of weapons based on natural elements: fire, water, wind and earth.
- Unlike other shoots up vertical, Cyber Core a more moderate playing speed, allowing a more strategic approach.
