Hinotori (The Phoenix in English) puts you in the skin of an intrepid explorer traversing horizontal scrolling levels. Your mission? Find the sacred fragments of a statue of the legendary Phoenix, scattered in several temples. Each level combines ingenious platforms and puzzles, while demanding precision and reflexes to avoid the many traps.
- Hinotori is a rare Konami incursion into manga adaptation, a less explored domain compared to its original series. The game faithfully reproduces the themes of rebirth and immortality of the manga of Osamu Tezuka.
- The jacket of the game represents the Phoenix in a unique artistic style, perfectly reflecting the mystical and dreamlike atmosphere of the title. Today, this jacket remains a popular collection item.
- At the end of the game, after the character has become a bird of fire and the text appears on the screen, press the CLS/HOME key on the 3rd text screen to get a secret message and password.
