About

In Fighting Street, you play Ryu (or Ken in 2 player mode) in a series of duels around the world. The goal is simple: to face the best fighters on the planet to prove your martial superiority. The game already introduces several elements that will become standards in the following episodes: the lifebar, the fights in one against one, the special blows like the famous Hadoken, and a bestiary of characters from all over the globe.

Graphically, this PC-Engine version offers a faithful adaptation of the arcade, benefiting from CD support for quality digital music and digitalized voices, which was a revolution in 1988. The sprites are large and well animated, although the gameplay may seem rigid compared to subsequent standards.
